Institute Profile

Development work on passenger cars, trucks, and motorcycles is becoming increasingly complicated and challenging. Product development cycles must be shortened and costs must be reduced while growing demands for quality, safety, comfort, and ecological compatibility need to be satisfied. The institute stands for innovative and customer-oriented work as well as flexibility and punctuality with the highest standards of quality and cost awareness.
Leading domestic and international vehicle manufacturers, component manufacturers, suppliers, and public institutions make use of the wide range of services. A close collaboration with the Forschungsgesellschaft Kraftfahrwesen Aachen (fka) simplifies the industrial contacts and project management. This interaction between scientific research and product development generates pioneering results appropriate for the application in production vehicles.
The services range from concept development, computer simulation and engineering design to vehicle and component prototyping and experimental testing. One main field of activities is the advanced development of complete vehicle concepts as well as of single components.
