Automation and Simulation July 31 – August 21, 2010 In this summer school you will have an introduction to the methods used at the edge of mechanical engineering and computer technology. You get an overview over numerical methods used to solve engineering problems, as well as an introduction to calculation and simulation techniques in production. Download the actual Course Schedule! Lectures and laboratory courses Students will have 20 hours of lectures and laboratory courses each week. German Language Course German language courses will be taught in the afternoons. Students will have 8 hours of instruction each week over a period of three weeks. Social Events While following an intensive academic program and the german language course, participants also have the opportunity to experience German culture hands-on through a leisure time program including:
...and much more! Buddy Program A German buddy is the student’s direct person of contact for questions concerning student life in Aachen and everyday matters. Costs and Scholarships Course fees amount to € 2.800,- including all lectures, laboratory courses and excursions, social events, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and all meals during social events and a public transport ticket for 3 weeks. 5 scholarships of € 1.800,- are available for qualified students. Please state in your letter of motivation why you are suited to receive a scholarship. Accommodation Participants will sleep and have breakfast in the youth hostel in Aachen. The rooms are four bed rooms.
