Automotive and Mobility studies

This summer school will give an introduction to the available alternatives to combustion engines, as well as an outlook to the future of drive concepts for vehicle powertrains. You will learn something about alternative fuels, such as alcohol, natural gas or hydrogen. Furthermore we will have a look on fuel cells as well as on electric drives.

Lectures and laboratory courses

Students will have 20 hours of lectures and laboratory courses each week.

German Language Course

German language courses will be taught in the afternoons. Students will have 8 hours of instruction each week over a period of three weeks.

Social Events

While following an intensive academic program and the german language course, participants also have the opportunity to experience German culture hands-on through a leisure time program including: 

  • Intercultural Training
  • Company Visits
  • Important Sights in and around Aachen
  • Excursions to Cities such as Maastricht or Cologne
  • Sport Events
  • Meeting German and international students and graduates

Buddy Program

A German buddy is the student’s direct person of contact for questions concerning student life in Aachen and everyday matters.
Having a buddy means getting help when moving in and to get acquainted with Aachen/Germany. For example your buddy will show you where to go shopping, where to find the post office or how to ordner in a restaurant.

Costs and Scholarships

Course fees amount to € 2.800,- including all lectures, laboratory courses and excursions, social events, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and all meals during social events and a public transport ticket for 3 weeks. 5 scholarships of € 1.800,- are available for qualified students. Please state in your letter of motivation why you are suited to receive a scholarship.  

Accommodation

Participants will stay in the youth hostel in Aachen. The rooms are four bed rooms.
