Learn German - experience Aachen

German language courses will be taught on two levels, depending on the students’ previous knowledge. Exchange students from partner universities who stay for the winter term 2009/10 can continue with the German language course for exchange students in September 2010.

German Language Course

Students will have 20 hours of instruction each week over a period of three weeks. All students will be required to participate in a placement test to determine their level of knowledge.

Social Events

While following an intensive academic program, students also have the opportunity to experience German culture hands-on through a leisure time program organized by the International Office, to meet German and international students, and to visit important German and European sights. At the end of the programme, participants will receive a certificate stating the contents of the course, ECTS credits received, and their performance in these courses (where applicable).

Buddy Program

A German buddy is the student’s direct person of contact for questions concerning student life in Aachen and everyday matters.
Having a buddy means getting help when moving in and to get acquainted with Aachen/Germany. For example your buddy will show you where to go shopping, where to find the post office or how to ordner in a restaurant.

Costs and Scholarships

Course fees including all lectures, laboratory courses and excursions, social events, lunch and all meals during social events, accomodation inclusive breakfast and a public transport ticket for 3 weeks: 1100,-€

Accommodation

Participants will sleep and have breakfast in the youth hostel in Aachen. The rooms are four bed rooms.
